Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Service Manager

Department: Retail Banking

Location(s): Fort Lee, NJ (Palisades Avenue)


SUMMARY:

Coordinate with Service Manager in implementing and carrying out bank policy with respect to overall operations of branch. Include all phase from responsibility for maintaining of building and grounds to handling of consumer and commercial loans.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review business plans and objectives with Branch Manager.
  • Establishes with branch manager a comfort level for discretionary decisions and participates in decision making process.
  • Assist Branch Manager in the accomplishment of branch goals.
  • Oversee day to day operation of the branch.
  • Continually updates and apprises Branch Manager of status of branch operations and pending issues.
  • Oversee the flow of cash and financial instruments in accordance with company policy.
  • Assess risk of all financial transactions executed by organization personnel.
  • Monitor activities to implement institution's policies, procedures, and practices
  • Conform with and follow procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities to ensure safekeeping.
  • Talk to customers to resolve account problems.
  • Approve checks and assist teller in any way possible.
  • During peak periods assist Customer Service Representatives in opening new accounts and meeting other customer’s needs.
  • Make report to manager of any teller shortages or overages.
  • Make security check of building and all tellers stations.

 

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:

  • At least two years of supervisory experience in a financial institution or at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Accounting or other related field
