We Salute Frontline Health Care Workers and First Responders

Alma Bank would like to express our gratitude to all front line health care workers and first responders for their tireless work during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Alma Bank has sent weekly pastries and coffee over to Mount Sinai Queens as a way to say thank you for their dedication by helping others in these trying times.

Ronald McDonald House Community Service Day

Alma Bank participated in a Community Service Day at Ronald McDonald House NYC on 11/04/19 - helping keep the house clean and germ-free in support of children battling cancer and their families.

Tenafly Community Night

Alma Bank recently participated in the 7th Annual Tenafly, NJ Community Night. The purpose of the event was to encourage residents to meet and interact with local emergency services personnel and members of the Tenafly business community. Residents had the chance to see close-up some of the equipment used by Tenafly public safety personnel, including patrol cars, fire trucks, ambulances and the equipment carried to calls.

Ronald McDonald House New York City Volunteer Day

Alma Bank volunteers proudly served lunch recently to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House - while their children battle cancer at various NYC area hospitals. Since 1978 Ronald McDonald House has provided temporary lodging and care for more than 35,000 families when traveling to NYC for advanced cancer treatment they can’t get anywhere else.

Junior Achievement "Our Families" Volunteer Day

Alma Bank’s Brooklyn team recently spent the day at PS 277 / Gerritsen Beach School helping 55 first grade students learn financial literacy using the Junior Achievement “JA our Families” course for early elementary grades. Thanks to Mrs. Feratovic in the 1-117 classroom and Principal Theresa Viantis from PS 277 for their support.

Alma Bank at the Tenafly 5K & Dog Walk Event

Alma Bank was a proud sponsor of the Tenafly 5K Run & Dog Walk event held on Sunday 6/2/19. Proceeds benefited the Tenafly Education Foundation that funds teacher-initiated programs in the Tenafly public school that the school budget is unable to cover.

Alma Bank – Habitat for Humanity NYC Volunteer Day

Alma Bank joined forces with Habitat for Humanity NYC to work on the restoration of an affordable single-family residence in the Jamaica section of Queens on 10/5/18. The Alma Bank team spent the day installing new windows and helping build an outdoor deck on the home previously owned by the NYC Housing Authority, that had been vacant for over 20 years.

Alma Bank Brooklyn Back-to-School Backpack Give-Away

Alma Bank’s Brooklyn branches worked in conjunction with local NYC intermediate public schools to help ensure that children in need are given the necessary supplies to succeed in the classroom this year. Alma Bank donated backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies prior to the start of classes in late August.
